What is Facial Laser Hair Removal?
Laser hair removal is the most effective method of long term facial hair removal available that can be used almost anywhere on the face. Unlike other methods such as waxing and shaving laser hair removal gives long lasting results. The hair will become finer, softer and will slow down more and more with each subsequent treatment.
How does the procedure work?
During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits and delays future hair growth.
How is the treatment carried out?
Protective eye glasses are provided and the skin will be cleaned, the laser head is then passed over the skin releasing quick pulses of light.
Do I have to do anything before my treatment?
A patch test is always needed at least 48 hours before treatment, so please shave the area 48 hours beforehand and avoid any creams, lotions and perfumes. Sunbathing and Sunbeds should be avoided at least 4 weeks before treatment.
How long is the treatment?
Each session is dependent on the treatment area, but we advise around 10 minutes upwards.Your treatment will be tailored to your individual requirements which will be discussed in your pre-treatment consultation. Additional time will be required if you require more areas.
How many treatments will I need?
You'll see results after your first appointment, but it'll take several treatments to permanently remove hair. In four to six sessions, spaced about four weeks apart, you'll see 70 to 80 percent reduction in hair growth.
